THE NEWS FOR JULY THROUGH DECEMBER 2011 Introducing Two Manuals for Attendant Care Services "A Good Attendant"
A Guide About How to Recruit, Attain, & Maintain Personal Attendant Care Services and its sister manual, "A Good
Caregiver" A Guide About How to Become a Personal Attendant are great resources for persons looking for personal care
services or for those searching for employment in the caregiving profession. These fully illustrated manuals are excellent
resources for those that seek to train consumers that need attendants or for those that need caregiving jobs. I, the
writer for these manuals, designed these guidebooks to help guide individuals through the process of hiring caregivers or
for those that need attendant care jobs. Both manuals are not a guarantee to successful caregiving experiences, but
they are helpfull tools for understanding the roles of consumers and their caregivers. I, through my long history of
hiring caregivers, have a greater awareness and understanding for caregivers and the demands it takes to care for another
person. There were times when I did not do enough to show my appreciations for former caregivers. On the other
side of the coin, there were times when I did too much to show my love for past attendants. These manuals were written
to keep other individuals with disabilities are their caregivers from making similar mistakes. It is my hope that my
readers of these manuals will begin to appreciate the one-to-one experiences of their caregiving relationships. Everyone
is unquie in their ways, but it is only when we work together that life is enjoyable. Written By: Mr. Joe Rivas, M.S., C.R.C.
